There are two easy maintenance checks for your radon in air system. First, go listen to your radon fan. You should be able to hear it running but it shouldn’t be too loud or sound erratic. If it isn’t running, give us a call for a fan swap. Weird noises from the fan may indicate debris down the pipe, which will need to be cleaned out. Second, look at your manometer (u-shaped tube with blue liquid on the indoor radon pipe) and make sure the liquid level is uneven (on the two sides of the U) and more than zero. The manometer indicates the pressure the fan is generating to remove radon gas. If it doesn’t look right, give us a call. Additionally, the EPA recommends radon testing every 2-3 years, even if you have a mitigation system in place.
